Seems so helpful for the respiratory system in general! <br />It's a geranium that is pretty easy to grow, though I've only managed a few specimens and they definitely don't make it through the VT winter.Guido Mase'https://www.blogger.com/profile/08186818316201584509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5738694062065682753.post-55938765458793142302011-05-17T01:12:44.875-04:002011-05-17T01:12:44.875-04:00Came across your blog following a Pelargonium Sido...Came across your blog following a Pelargonium Sidoides link. Wondering if you managed to grow them successfully? Mentioning it here because I was reading some research online that mentioned that Pelargonium sidoides "interfered with replication of seasonal influenza A virus strains (H1N1, H3N2), respiratory syncytial virus, human coronavirus, parainfluenza virus, and coxsackie virus " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelargonium_sidoidesLittle Red Henhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08286613788042692454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5738694062065682753.post-34473180523759722922010-10-27T07:39:32.559-04:002010-10-27T07:39:32.559-04:00If you are interested in Healthy Living, you shoul...If you are interested in Healthy Living, you should be interested in Ayurveda. Plants such as Thyme or Lavender Bee Balm are some of my favorites. I'd be careful with influenza, especially in the case of a dry cough, as the steam can actually aggravate it! Seems counterintuitive, as steam is so moist, but I think it's the heat that is the problem. That said, if there is a more moist cough with thick secretions, and you're concerned about the development of a secondary infection in the lungs (i.e. bacterial pneumonia), steaming is a great idea.Guido Mase'https://www.blogger.com/profile/08186818316201584509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5738694062065682753.post-73035820555242306832009-11-04T16:40:18.323-05:002009-11-04T16:40:18.323-05:00Thanks for the great article. That is, inhaling the steam of a simmering pot of water that had antiviral/antibacterial herbs in it? If so, what herbs would you recommend?Ian Christopher Goodmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10447024755400563841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5738694062065682753.post-36853461640655796982009-10-30T03:35:44.459-04:002009-10-30T03:35:44.459-04:00Hey, nema problema :-) Keep up the good work.
